Kinale, St Joseph and Upper Hill Begin KSSSA National 7s Campaigns with Victories

The 2026 KSSSA National Term Two Games Rugby Sevens competition got underway at the M-PESA Academy in Kiambu County, with several schools making strong opening statements as they chase national glory.

Central region winners Kinale Secondary School were among the standout performers of the opening round, cruising to a 34-0 victory over their neighbors Gituamba.

St Joseph’s Girls also enjoyed a winning start, overwhelming Coast region representatives Mwatate 36-0 in one of the day’s most one-sided encounters. Their clinical attack and solid defense ensured they kept a clean sheet while sending an early warning to the rest of the competition.

Upper Hill edged All Saints 7-0 in a tightly contested affair, while Kimobo registered the biggest winning margin of the opening round with a convincing 31-0 triumph over Muvuti.

Western region winners Bokoli also secured victory after defeating Anjego 21-5, while St Antony proved too strong for Kirangari, claiming a comfortable 24-0 win.

Elsewhere, Itigo beat Sigoti 26-5, Kwale overcame Mutige 26-5, and Karen C Academy brushed aside Gatondo 34-0.

Njabini also impressed, shutting out Nairobi School 21-0 to complete a perfect defensive performance in their opening fixture.
