The pools for the third leg of SportPesa 7s circuit, 2026 George Mwangi Memorial Kabeberi 7s Division one have been confirmed, with 16 teams set to battle for supremacy at RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi, on August 15–16.
The tournament is is on it’s 37th edition has produced four competitive pools, each featuring four teams.
Pool A
Kenya Harlequin headline Pool A alongside Daystar Falcons, Kisumu RFC and Impala RFC. Harlequin will be expected to set the pace in a group that brings together teams with plenty of experience on the 7s circuit.
Pool B
Fresh from an impressive performance in Dala 7s, hosts Mwamba RFC have been drawn in Pool B alongside Strathmore Leos, Nondescripts RFC and CUEA Monks.
Mwamba, under the guidance of former Kenya lionesses head coach Paul Murunga will be among the teams to watch. However, Strathmore Leos and Nondescripts have considerable 7s pedigree, while CUEA Monks will be keen to make their mark.
Pool C
Menengai Oilers lead Pool C, where they will face Zetech Oaks, Blak Blad and Mombasa RFC. Oilers will enter the tournament among the favourites after a strong Dala 7s campaign where they reached finals. Zetech Oaks, who have also been regular contenders on the circuit, alongside Blak Blad and Mombasa, will provide a stern test.
Pool D
Kenya Cup champions Kabras RFC headline Pool D alongside defending Kabeberi 7s champions KCB RFC, MMUST and Nakuru RFC. It is arguably one of the most intriguing pools, with Kabras and KCB boasting strong squads and proven success in Kenyan rugby. MMUST and Nakuru will, however, be determined to upset the established order.
The 37th edition of Kabeberi 7s will take place on 15–16 August 2026 at RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, promising two days of high-intensity rugby and entertainment.
