The second edition of the Juja 7s is set to take place next weekend 11-12 July at the JKUAT Main Campus, with 16 teams confirmed for the one-day tournament.
This year’s event has received a major boost with HelaBet, under the Promo Code OOKO, coming on board as the main sponsor in a move aimed at growing the tournament and supporting grassroots rugby.
Speaking to Two5four Rugby, JKUAT captain Masinga Ooko said the partnership reflects his passion for the game and desire to create opportunities for emerging talent.
“Rugby is a game that I love and having played across tournaments, coming in with HelaBet, which is a sports-oriented company of which I am an affiliate partner, it was only right to come in and support Juja 7s become a household tournament while showing the world the kind of talents we have.
We’ve partnered with youth-owned companies, mostly start-ups, to bring this tournament to life,” Ooko said.
Ooko also promised fans more than just rugby action, revealing that the tournament will feature a vibrant entertainment package similar to the successful HelaBet Rugby Extravaganza held in April.
