Mwamba RFC have named a balanced 13-man squad for the opening leg of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit, the Prinsloo 7s, set for July 25-26 at the ASK Showground in Nakuru.
The squad will be led by experienced campaigners former Kenya 7s internationals Brian Mutugi and Tony Omondi, who are expected to provide leadership as Kulabu begin their quest for a strong start to the circuit under head coach Paul Murunga.
Mwamba head into the tournament as the most successful in the history of Prinsloo 7s with back to back titles in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 golden Generation and their last title came in 2019.
Also included in the squad are Amon Bwambok,Speedster Shaquel Bosire, Raynold Anduvate, Eugene Ojiambo, Zoelick Buyuni, Byron Webo, Aldrine Andanje, Bruce Shiemi, Wycliffe Ochieng, Dennis Ndayala and Paul Tatti.
Mwamba have been drawn in Pool A alongside defending Kenya Cup champions Kabras RFC, Kenya Harlequin, and Embu RFC, setting up a challenging opening day for the Nairobi-based side.
Murunga’s charges will be aiming to make a statement in Nakuru as they look to build momentum ahead of the remaining legs of the National Sevens Circuit following their return to the top flight.
