Anjego Secondary School have been crowned Migori County rugby sevens champions going unbeaten in the campaign that saw them overpower every opponent from the preliminary to the final.
Anjego set the tone early in the knockout stages, sweeping aside Gokeharaka 28-00 in the quarterfinals before hammering Komolorume 43-00 to book a place in the final. Elsewhere, Kanga high school edged Kibuon 24-00 in another quarterfinal match, while Rapogi secured their semifinal ticket after defeating Isibania 28-05.
In the semifinals, Ajengo remained unstoppable, brushing aside Komolorume 38-00 to underline their title credentials. Kanga, however, had to dig deep to overcome Rapogi 14-07 in a closely fought encounter to set up a final showdown.
The final, however, was a one-sided affair as Ajengo delivered a ruthless display to dismantle Kanga 38-00 and seal the county crown in emphatic fashion.
Ajengo’s attacking brilliance lit up the final, with Nicodemus Obama starring with a brace of tries. Emmanuel Nkori, Alex Lokai, Shadrack, and Abednego Ekiru also got on the scoresheet as Ajengo ran riot.
