The Kakamega County Secondary Schools Rugby 7s has reached the knockout stage after a highly competitive preliminary round that produced wins, narrow escapes, and a few draws that shaped the quarterfinal lineup.
Preliminary highlights saw Musingu High School stamp authority with a 71-00 win over Samitsi and a 54 – 05 victory against Mabole, while St. Peter’s Mumias were equally ruthless, recording a 62-00 win over Emwiru and a 74-00 demolition of Soysambu. Kakamega High School impressed with a 45-00 win over Lumakando, as Kilimani Boys secured progression with a 36-12 result against Samitsi.
Former champions oyonzo survived a tight 17–12 battle against Lubinu, while Kakamega produced a 62–00 win over Isongo, the tournament also recorded draws such as Mabole vs Samitsi (12–12) and Silungai vs Chebuyusi (19–19) underlining the competitiveness of the pools.
