KCB Rugby Club have named a powerful matchday squad for Saturday’s highly anticipated Kenya Cup 25/26 season final against rivals KCB Rugby Club at the ASK Kakamega Showground.
The bankers head into the clash determined to stop Kabras Sugar RFC from completing a historic fifth consecutive Kenya Cup title, setting up another thrilling chapter in one of Kenyan rugby’s fiercest rivalries.
Head coach Andrew Amonde has entrusted Nick Okulo with the captaincy duties, he will lead the team from the front row alongside Fidel Maina and Whilhite Mususi. Emmanuel Silungi and Winstone Macharia pair up in the second row, while the back row features Elvis Olukusi, George Ooro and Sheldon Kahi.
At halfback, Kenya 7s star Samuel Asati starts at scrum-half with Brian Wahinya pulling the strings at fly-half. The backline sees Bob Muhati and Richel Wangila combine in midfield, while Bob Muhati and Vincent Onyala occupy the wings while Isaac Njoroge slots in at fullback.
KCB will also look to their bench for impact, with Wilfred Waswa, Thomas Okidia and Eric Miheso providing front row cover. Brian Munyali and Churchill Otieno complete the forward replacements.
In the backs, Emmanuel Opondo, Micheal Wekesa and Elvis Namusasi are expected to offer fresh energy if called upon.
The final kicks off at 3pm and is expected to draw a huge crowd as the two Kenyan rugby giants renew their rivalry with silverware on the line.
