KCB Rugby club head coach Andrew Amomde has named a strong matchday squad ahead of their Kenya Cup semi-final clash against Nondescripts at The KCB Den tomorrow, as the bankers look to muscle their way back into the final.
Amonde has kept faith with a core group that has carried them through the season, with Nick Okullo, Fidel Maina and Wilhite Mususi forming the front row. Emmanuel Silungi and John Aswani pair up in the second row, while the back row sees Elvis Okus, George Ooro and Sheldon Kahi provide the physical edge.
At halfback, Samuel Asati pulls the strings at scrum-half, partnering Brian Wahinya at fly-half. The midfield combination of captain Bob Muhati and Richel Wangila will be key in both attack and defence, while the back three has Mike Wekesa, Festus Shiasi and Isaac Njoroge.
On the bench, KCB have solid reinforcements including Wilfred Waswa, Thomas Okidia and Eric Miheso, giving them options to maintain intensity late into the game.
Their opponents, Nondescripts, head into the tie with confidence after a convincing 35-17 win over Menengai Oilers last weekend in Nakuru.
The winner will book a place in the Kenya Cup final, with both sides aware of what’s at stake as the season reaches its climax.
Meanwhile, the other semi-final will see defending champions Kabras Sugar host KU Blak Blad in Kakamega. Kabras, chasing yet another title, will be wary of a Blak Blad side that has shown consistency and hunger throughout the campaign.
