Jerome Paarwater has reported taken up an advisory position with the Namibian Rugby Union, this is according to SA Rugby Magazine in an article published on this link https://www.sarugbymag.co.za/stormers-coach-to-help-namibia/
The current Simbas head coach, who is also a coach with South African outfit, Stormers is set to focus on rebuilding key structures after the country failed to qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
His brief includes reviewing club systems, mentoring local coaches, and providing strategic direction to the union.
The move follows major changes within the Namibian setup, including the exit of former captain Jacques Burger and his coaching staff in December.
Burger had been appointed director of rugby in 2024, replacing Allister Coetzee, who led Namibia at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Namibia’s decline was highlighted by their 30-28 loss to Zimbabwe in the Africa Cup final. That defeat denied them automatic qualification before they also fell short in the final qualifying tournament in Dubai.
It means Namibia will miss the global tournament for the first time after appearing in the previous seven editions, a setback that has also reduced funding from World Rugby and limited the union’s ability to make full-time appointments
