Western Bulls Mourn Founding Member Obiero Solomon

The Kenyan rugby community is mourning  the tragic loss of Obiero Solomon, a former player and leader of KRU championship side, Western Bulls Rugby Club, who passed away following a hit-and-run incident in Nairobi today.

In a heartfelt club statement, the Kakamega based side described Solomon as more than just a player, he was a pillar of their foundation and a symbol of the brotherhood the club represents.

Solomon was a founding member of MMUST Rugby Club in 2007, the side that later evolved into Western Bulls in October 2011. From the very beginning, he wore the club’s colours with pride and remained loyal through to the end of the 2023 season.

At the close of the 2023 season, Solomon embraced a new challenge as Head Coach of the African Nazarene University Rugby Team, continuing his passion for mentorship and development.

His passing leaves a painful void within the club and the wider rugby fraternity. Western Bulls have extended their condolences to his family, friends, and teammates, praying for strength during this difficult time.
