The Ugandan rugby fraternity is in mourning following the passing of Ronald Adigasi, a founding member of Entebbe Mongers RFC.
Adigasi, who also represented the Uganda Rugby Cranes, passed away on the morning of October 26, 2025, while on his way to work at the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), where he served diligently for years.
In a heartfelt statement, the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) paid tribute to Adigasi’s immense contribution to the game both on and off the field.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ronald Adigasi, a true legend and pioneer of Ugandan rugby.
Ronald was a founding member of Entebbe Mongers RFC and one of the driving forces behind the growth of rugby in Entebbe. He was instrumental in introducing and nurturing the sport at Entebbe Secondary School, inspiring many young players who would go on to represent their schools, clubs, and country.
On the national stage, Ronald proudly wore the Uganda Rugby Cranes jersey and was part of the historic team that won the Rugby Africa Cup in 2007 in Madagascar, one of Uganda’s greatest rugby achievements.
Beyond the field, he was a dedicated professional with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), where he served faithfully until his untimely passing.
Ronald’s strength, humility, and passion for the game have left an enduring mark on all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the countless players, teammates, and rugby lovers he inspired.

Adigasi’s influence in Ugandan rugby stretched beyond his playing days. As one of the founding pillars of Entebbe Mongers RFC, he helped shape the club’s culture and mentored generations of players. His leadership, humility, and passion made him a respected figure within the rugby community.
He will be remembered as a trailblazer who helped establish rugby in Entebbe and played a key role in Uganda’s historic 2007 Rugby Africa Cup triumph in Madagascar, a victory that remains etched in the nation’s sporting history.
