Uganda Cup Kicks Off with Big Wins for Pirates, Buffaloes, and Heathens

The 2025 Uganda Cup began on Saturday 18 October 2025 with a series of one-sided results as several top-flight clubs recorded strong wins in Round 1.

In Kampala, Heathens opened their campaign with a 29–06 win over Impis, while Toyota Buffaloes secured a 63–07 victory against Kyambogo. Pirates posted the largest scoreline of the round, defeating Kigezi Silverbacks 154–09.

At Entebbe, Mongers beat Walukuba 27–14, and Hippos edged Gulu City Falcons 38–33 in a closely contested match. Rhinos overcame Warriors 15–09 to progress to the next round.

Victoria Sharks and KCB KOBs advanced after walkover wins against Elgon Wolves and Kakira Simbas, respectively, both matches ending 20–00.

In the Women’s competition, Avengers defeated Kigezi Queens 81–00, Ewes narrowly beat She Wolves 15–13, and Panthers recorded a 16–12 win over Nile Rapids.
