The HSBC SVNS Series arrives in Singapore this weekend for the third round of the 2026 season, with all 16 teams across the men’s and women’s competitions chasing crucial league points ahead of the three-tournament Championship later this year.
After two rounds, the men’s leaderboard is tightly contested. South Africa, Fiji, and New Zealand are locked on 32 points each, with Olympic gold medallists France, Australia, and Argentina close behind. South Africa captain Siviwe Soyizwapi, who could break USA legend Perry Baker’s National Stadium try-scoring record of 29, said the squad was focused on consistency and integrating new players.
“Cape Town Sevens went well, but Singapore is a new tournament,” Soyizwapi said. “We’ve had to start again, work harder, and give an even better performance. It’s another chance to grow as a team and get new players experience in sevens.”
In the women’s competition, New Zealand and Australia share the top spot with 38 points, followed by Japan, USA, France, Fiji, and Olympic silver medallists Canada. Australia captain Isabella Nasser said her squad had prepared well after the holiday break and were ready for the heat and humidity.
With just one tournament remaining before the Championship, every point this weekend will be crucial in shaping the 2026 HSBC SVNS Series standings.
