Shujaa Name Squad for Nairobi HSBC SVNS 2 Leg

Kenya Sevens head coach Kevin Wambua has named a 12-man Shujaa squad set to fly the national flag at the upcoming 2026 HSBC SVNS 2 tournament scheduled for February 14–15 in Nairobi.

 

The squad features experience and youthful spark as Kenya looks to capitalize on home support in the second tier of the World Rugby Sevens circuit.

 

Samuel Asati and George Ooro have been tasked with the captaincy duties. The duo brings leadership and composure to a side keen on delivering results in front of home fans. Among the notable inclusions is speedster Vincent Onyala, Festus Shiasi and Patrick Odongo.

 

The squad also features Menengai Oilers duo of John Okoth and Dennis Abukuse alongside Kevin Wekesa, Nygel Amaitsa, Floyd Wabwire, Chrisant Ojwang, and debutant David Nyangige.

 

Technical bench duties will be handled by head coach Kevin Wambua, assisted by Louis Kisia, with Andrew Amonde serving as Strength and Conditioning coach. Eric Ogweno joins as Team Manager, while Lamech Bogonko completes the backroom staff as physiotherapist.

 

Shujaa heads into the Nairobi leg seeking a strong showing on home soil as they continue their push for consistency and possible promotion within the HSBC Sevens pathway.
