Ruthless Shujaa dominate Belgium to maintain perfect HSBC SVNS 2 run

Kenya Shujaa delivered a commanding performance to overpower Belgium 33–0 in their HSBC SVNS Series clash, showcasing clinical execution, solid defence, and relentless pressure from start to finish.

Kenya kicked off the match with early intensity, forcing Belgium into a knock-on deep in their own 22. Scrum-half Samuel Asati capitalized on the advantage, darting over for his first try of the tournament. Nygel Amaitsa added the conversion to give Shujaa a 7–0 lead.

Belgium attempted to respond with an attacking break, but Kenya’s defensive structure held firm, forcing another knock-on in the danger zone. Shujaa extended their lead through Chrisant Ojwang’, who finished off a well-timed pass from Asati for his second try of the tournament. With the conversion secured, Kenya moved 14–0 ahead.

The momentum stayed with the hosts as Vincent Onyala powered through the Belgian defence for his first try of the tournament, stretching the scoreline to 19–0. Moments later, Patrick Odongo added his third try of the series with another brilliant burst of pace, giving Kenya a comfortable 26–0 lead at halftime.

Belgium entered the second half under immense pressure, struggling with handling errors triggered by Kenya’s aggressive defensive line. Though the visitors stiffened their defence, Kenya remained composed. Substitute Floyde Wabwire sealed the victory after pouncing on a loose ball and sprinting clear to score under the posts. The conversion brought the final tally to 33–0.

With this emphatic win, Shujaa remain top of the table edging ahead of USA as they build momentum heading into their next fixture against their Olympics rivals Germany.
