Kenyatta University’s BlakBlad RFC head coach Benard Rotich has expressed a mixture of gratitude and ambition following his team’s start to the 2025/26 Kenya Cup season.
Speaking to Two5four, Rotich acknowledged the challenges the team has faced in their first three matches played in November and December.
“We have two wins out of the possible three and we thank God for that even if we had a goal of winning the three but we lost the opening game,” Rotich said.
“So far we haven’t been at our best but am grateful for the boys who have managed to win despite us playing badly.” He voiced.
“We hope that when we return we have a better representation of ourselves in how we play.”Rotich added.
BlakBlad opened their season with a narrow 30-32 loss to Strathmore University before bouncing back with a 40-26 victory over Quins Blad and a 21-10 win against Nakuru RFC.
The team currently sits fifth on the league table after three rounds, having picked up 10 points from two wins and a single loss. They trail leaders Kabras Sugar RFC by five points but remain in striking distance as the season takes a festive break and resume on January 10th 2026.
