KCB RFC delivered a statement performance at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka, crushing the Strathmore Leos 72–14 in a third-round outing of the 2025/2026 Kenya Cup season.
Captain Felix Ojoo set the tone early, grounding the opener after sustained pressure inside the Leos’ 22. Brian Wahinya added the extras for a 7–0 start.
Moments later, winger Michael Wekesa ignited the stadium with a blistering run down the right flank to double the lead, Wahinya converting for 14–0.
Wekesa struck again soon after. A clever break from Wahinya split open the Leos defence, setting up the winger for his brace and pushing the score to 19–0. Even a brief scare, when Andy Cole was sent to the sin bin after a scuffle did little to disrupt KCB’s rhythm.
The hosts kept the scoreboard ticking. A sweeping play to the right found Biko Branton, who finished off a crisp pass from Vincent Onyala for 26–0. Onyala, ever influential, then bulldozed his way over for KCB’s fifth try, Wahinya converting for 33–0.
Elvis Namusasi and George Ooro joined the party, with more accurate kicking from Wahinya stretching the tally to 47–0. Leos finally pulled one back just before the interval, but KCB still went into the break comfortably ahead at 47–7.
The second half brought more of the same. Ojoo completed his brace to make it 52–7 before Branton added another. KCB crossed again for 62–7, and Wahinya, this time turning scorer produced a sparkling solo effort that sent the Ruaraka crowd into a frenzy. Leos managed a consolation, but the damage had long been done. KCB finished with one final flourish to close out an emphatic 72–14 victory.
After the match, Head Coach Andrew Amonde hailed his side’s ruthless display.
“This win reflects the work the boys have been putting in. We were clinical, disciplined, and hungry from start to finish. Now we build on this.”
