Ugandan champions Black Pirates delivered the result of the weekend, edging out pre-match favorites and former champions KCB 11-10 at Wankulukuku Stadium to secure a place in the 2026 Enterprise Cup semifinals.
KCB, the Nairobi-based bankers, showed early intent, imposing their physicality on the hosts and looking to take control of the contest from the outset. But the Pirates stood firm, absorbing the pressure with a disciplined and resolute defensive effort.
Having weathered the early storm, Black Pirates struck first through the boot of William Nkore, whose two well-taken penalties handed the hosts a 6-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
KCB came out firing in the second half and were rewarded when backrower Sheldon Kahi, in a display of power, bulldozed his way through the defense to score an unconverted try, narrowing the gap to 6-5.
The Pirates responded with intent, as Jeremiah Okello crossed over for an unconverted try to extend the lead to 11-5.
KCB refused to go away, and Mike Wekesa powered over for their second try, bringing the score to 11-10 with fourteen minutes left on the clock and setting up a tense finish.
But the Pirates held their nerve. Backed by a spirited home crowd and a rock-solid defense, they shut down KCB’s late advances to seal a famous victory.
The win sets up a mouthwatering semifinal clash against reigning champions Kabras Sugar, who earlier cruised to a dominant 61-19 win over Heathens at the same venue.
