Mwamba RFC flyhalf Eugene Ojiambo says earning his first senior national team call-up is a milestone he has prayed and worked for, describing the moment as “a dream come true.”
Speaking to Two5four media, Ojiambo, who has been one of Kulabu’s most consistent performers this season, could not hide his joy after being drafted into the national setup for the upcoming international assignments.
“It’s a dream come true to get a senior national team call-up. I really thank God for how far He has brought me,” he said.
With Kenya set to host the HSBC SVNS II in February, 2026, its first time on home soil, Ojiambo believes the occasion will not only inspire local players but also elevate the country’s rugby landscape.
“On hosting the HSBC 7s, I believe it’s something big for us and a huge step in our growth. At least we will get to experience it,” he added.
The young playmaker now hopes to translate his club form to the international stage as he begins a new chapter in his rugby journey.
