Mombasa RFC have confirmed their 25-man squad to take on South Coast Pirates in a pre-season friendly set for Saturday, October 1, 2025, at the Diani Seacrest Grounds from 3:00 PM.
Scrum-half Dennis Njagaru will face his former side for the first time since crossing over to Mombasa earlier this year. He starts at number nine and will be assisted by Kevin Magembe at fly-half.
Up front, the front row of Yassin Mohammed, Amos Lunalo, and Alvin Karani will look to impose dominance early on. The trio’s power and scrummaging ability will be key in setting the physical tone, while Lunalo’s precision at the lineout will anchor the set pieces. Behind them, Tommy Happy pairs with Ian Gitau in the second row, providing strength, height, and ball-carrying support.
In the back row, captain Luke Omotto leads from number eight, supported by flankers Elias Obuyu and Kim Kuloba.
The midfield sees Hannigton Ambaka partner Co-captain Collins Amayo in the centres. Ambaka’s direct running complements Amayo’s tactical awareness, forming a pairing built on strength and communication. Out wide, Jared Osindi and Hillary Munga start on the wings, offering pace and finishing power, while Kelvin Chege takes charge at fullback.
Among the notable replacements are veteran Ezra Mulusa who joins Roy Anuko, Jacob Tinga, Martin Lewa, Collins Odiwuor, Edward Ojijo, Koffi Bulogosi, Edmond Muturi, Vincent Akach, and Timothy Chombo to bring depth and impact options off the bench as the game progresses.
The encounter in Diani offers both teams a chance to test combinations and gauge their readiness ahead of the 2025/26 KRU Championship season.
