Nakuru Rugby Football Club chairman Aggrey Omiyo has been suspended following allegations of financial mismanagement, according to a report by Nation Media’s Mtaa Wangu.
Omiyo’s suspension was communicated through a letter dated November 26, 2025, after an accounts audit and internal investigations into the management and utilisation of club funds uncovered financial irregularities.
In a statement, the club’s Main Committee said the chairman was found guilty of gross misappropriation of club funds, terming the matter a “serious breach of trust” and a violation of the standards expected of his office.
The committee further noted that the revelations had placed the club’s relationship with its key sponsor in a delicate position, triggering calls for restructuring and the introduction of stronger accountability measures to restore confidence and safeguard continued funding.
As a result, Omiyo has been suspended with immediate effect for a period of up to three months. During this time, the club will convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) to interrogate the audit report, review the club’s leadership, and chart the way forward.
He has also been instructed to cease representing himself as a club official and to surrender all club documents and assets in his possession within 48 hours.
