Morans Dominate as Shogun and Zimbabwe Stay Unstoppable on Day One

Morans, Shogun and Zimbabwe remained unbeaten on the opening day of the 27th edition of the Safari 7s at Nyayo Stadium.

The Morans began their campaign strongly, with their first try coming late in the first half after a hard-fought battle against the ReUnion defence. A successful conversion took the scores to 7–0 at halftime.

In the second half, the Morans adjusted their tactics, and a debutant crossed the corner to score his first try of the tournament and the team’s second, extending the lead to 14–0 after another successful conversion.

As the game progressed, the hosts found more space, allowing another player to sprint through for a try that stretched the scoreline to 19–0—his first of the tournament. In the closing minutes, he spotted another opening to dive over the line, sealing his brace and confirming a 24–0 victory for the Morans.

Elsewhere, Zimbabwe registered a convincing 33–17 win over first-time participants Apache, while the National 7s Circuit champions KCB were narrowly beaten 17–14 by last year’s finalists Shogun.
