Mombasa RFC has named a 23-man travelling squad ahead of their highly anticipated friendly encounter against Dar es Salaam RFC this weekend. The coastal clash, which serves as a key pre-season test, brings together two of East Africa’s top rugby coastal sides in what promises to be a thrilling contest of skill and grit for the Kenya Championship side.
The travelling party blends experience and youthful energy, reflecting Mombasa’s intent to fine-tune combinations ahead of the new 2025-2026 KRU CHAMPIONSHIP campaign.
Among those making the trip are Luke Omoto, Amos Lunalo, Yassin Mohammed, Happy Tommy, Martin Lewa, Elias Obuyu, Charles Onyango, Njangi Denis, Nick Mawira (Mapipe), Jared Osindi, Collins Amayo, Timothy Chombo, Hannington Mbaka, Bilal Mulako, and Wayne Omondi.
The squad’s depth is boosted by Alvin Karani, Collins Odwour, Joel Mukwana, Kevin Magembe, Hillary Munga, Collins Brooks, Samuel Mutua, and Kevin Chege, all providing valuable cover and tactical flexibility.
Head coach Antony Ndegwa leads the technical team, assisted by Absalom Mugubi, Jane Mboya, Erick Khamusali, and Teddy Ndemo. The technical bench has been instrumental in refining the team’s structure, fitness, and cohesion ahead of the trip.
