Meru University, Quin Panthers Shine in Bingwa Fest 2.0 Opening Round

The 2025 Bingwa Fest 2.0 Central Region edition kicked off with exciting action on December 19th, 2025, at Meru School. The opening day brought high energy and intense competition, with Meru University and Quins Panthers standing out with dominant performances.

Meru University set the tone for the day, cruising to a 30-0 victory over Tharaka University. From the first whistle, Meru displayed attacking flair, leaving Tharaka struggling to keep up. The match was one-sided, with Meru University’s dominance reflected in their well-executed plays and solid defense.

In the second match, Quins Panthers showed their strength, defeating Meru Rugby 59-7. The Panthers were in full control from start to finish, with Meru Rugby unable to match their speed and precision. Despite Meru’s effort, the Panthers’ skill and teamwork proved too much, and they secured a convincing win.

The third game saw Chuka University edge Karatina University 12-5 in a close contest. Chuka’s tactical play and ability to seize key moments gave them the edge, even though Karatina fought hard for the win.

Blad Academy then wrapped up the day with a 17-5 win over Murang’a University. Murang’a put up a brave fight, but Blad’s strategic plays and strong execution saw them through.

The tournament continues on December 20th, 2025, at Kaaga Girls, with the final rounds scheduled for December 21st at Kinoru Stadium. The action is far from over, and all eyes will be on the teams as they battle it out for supremacy.
