Lionesses Unveil Squad for Rugby Africa 7s

Kenya Lionesses interim Head Coach Simon Odongo has named a 13-member squad for this weekend’s Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens at RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.

The squad welcomes two exciting debutants and experienced captain Grace Okulu who currently plies her trade with French professional outfit Racing 92.

Ann Namunyak (Bidden Talent) and Impala speedster Nelly Chikombe impressed with the cubs at last month’s Safari 7s. Nelly scored four tries in five matches on her first sevens call-up are in line to make their senior team debut.

Co-captains Sheila Chajira and Grace Okulu will lead the team, with Janet Okello as vice-captain. The squad blends experienced campaigners with emerging talent.

Kenya is in Pool B alongside Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire, aiming to reclaim continental dominance and rack up crucial points on the road to the global Sevens circuit.
