The Kenya Lionesses will travel to Spain for a high-performance training camp as part of their preparations for the opening leg of the HSBC SVNS 2, which will be hosted in Nairobi on February 14–15, 2026.
A squad of 14 players is set to depart for Alicante on January 26 for a one-week intensive camp before returning to Kenya on January 31. The camp is a key component of the Lionesses’ build-up to the global second-tier sevens circuit, with the team targeting a strong start when they play on home soil.
Sheila Chajira will captain the team, with Freshia Oduor appointed vice-captain. The squad is further strengthened by the return of Stella Wafula, who rejoins the team following a high-performance training programme in the United States. Grace Okullu is also expected to link up with the team in Spain from France, adding experience and depth to the travelling party.
During the Spain camp, the Lionesses will play a series of competitive training matches against Spain and Belgium. The fixtures are expected to provide valuable exposure to high-quality opposition in a demanding European environment as the team sharpens combinations, fitness and match readiness.
