Lady Cranes Declare Squad For Nairobi Assignment

The Uganda Women’s Rugby Sevens team, the Lady Cranes, have named their squad ahead of this weekend’s Africa Women’s Sevens tournament, set to be held at RFUEA grounds, Nairobi Kenya. The team will be looking to build on their growing reputation in the continent’s rugby sevens scene.

The squad features Agnes Nakuya captaining the side and Lydia Namabiro as vice-captain. Other players called up include Yvonne Najjuma, Fazira Namukwaya, Susan Adong, Grace Nabagala, Juliet Nandawula, Amoli Lona Sandra, Ayikoru Samiya, Nandudu Janati, Lekuru Peace, and Namulala Unity.

The Lady Cranes are drawn in Pool C alongside Zambia and Burkina Faso.

Other pools for the tournament include:

Pool A: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mauritius

Pool B: Kenya, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire

Pool C: Uganda, Zambia, Burkina Faso

Pool D: Madagascar, Tunisia, Egypt
