Kenya’s rugby sevens stars continued to make waves abroad as Nelson Oyoo, Johnston Olindi, and former Menengai Oilers foward Brian Ndirangu all featured in Westshore RFC’s 26–21 triumph over rivals James Bay on Saturday.

The trio, who were all handed starting roles, played key roles in extending Westshore’s unbeaten run to three games in the ongoing BC Rugby League. Oyoo, the former Shujaa captain, crossed the whitewash for one of the tries, while Kyle Trembley scored twice and Taylor McGuire added another to seal the win.

Westshore’s latest victory follows a 29–26 win over defending champions Ravens last weekend and an emphatic 40–29 demolition of Cowichan in their opening fixture, cementing their place as one of the form teams of the competition.

The Kenyan contingent’s presence has been a major boost for the Canadian side, Their performances also highlight the growing influence of Kenyan players in overseas leagues as they continue to showcase their talent on the international stage.

Westshore are currently on the summit of the log after only three rounds.
