Kenya Sevens has announced the squad that will represent the nation in the 2026 SVNS season, ushering in a new chapter for the national team.
Head coach Kevin Wambua described the squad as “the gentlemen entrusted with carrying an entire nation’s hopes,” as they prepare to compete against the world’s top sevens teams.
The squad combines experience and creativity. Seasoned performers Kevin Wekesa, Brian Tanga, Vincent Onyala, and Patrick Odongo will provide leadership and stability across the park. Playmakers Nygel Pettersen, Elvis Olukusi, John Okoth, and Dennis Abukuse offer the team flair, vision, and distribution options to unlock defenses.
Wambua has also handed opportunities to emerging talents, including Eugene Ojiambo, Antony Omondi, Gabriel Ayimba, Arnold Agonda, Clinton Amukachi, and David Nyangige. This signals a long-term development plan aimed at strengthening the team’s depth for the international circuit.
The technical bench is supported by a strong management team, assistant coach Louis Kisia, strength and conditioning coach Andrew Amonde, physiotherapist Lamech Bokongo, team manager Erick Ogweno, and assistant team manager Morgan Ngumbi.
