Kenya Morans continued their impressive run at the Zambezi 7s, storming into the finals in style after a 61-0 victory over Old Georgians in the semifinals.
The Morans set the tone early, with winger Victor Mola crossing the line within the first 20 seconds. Rayvon Ambale was on target with the conversion to put Kenya ahead 7-0. Despite some pressure from Old Georgians, Kenya’s defense held firm. Ambale then dashed to the center post to score another try, converting it himself to extend the lead to 14-0.
Denis Abukuse received a perfectly timed pass from Ambale to score, with Ambale adding the extras to make it 21-0 by halftime.
The second half saw Kenya continue their dominance. Ambale’s long pass found an unmarked Abukuse, who scored his second try of the match. Ambale’s conversion pushed the lead to 28-0. Moments later, Ambale showcased his skill by beating three defenders before releasing captain John Okoth, who dotted down the try. With Ambale’s conversion, Kenya were 35-0 up.
Jackson Siketi sprinted down the wing to stretch the lead to 42-0, with Ambale adding the extras. Floyd Wambwire and Ambale then traded tries, pushing the scoreboard to 56-0. Wambwire completed a brace to seal a 61-0 victory, sending the Morans confidently into the finals.
This came after a clinical 48-0 win over Old Miltonians in the quarterfinals.
