The 2025/2026 Kenya Cup season is beginning to take shape as teams head into Round 5, with the title race already showing clear early contenders and intense battles brewing across the table.
After four rounds, defending champions Kabras Sugar, runners up Menengai Oilers and KCB Rugby remain perfect, all sitting joint-top on 20 points. Kabras lead the standings by virtue of a superior points difference, having amassed an impressive +306, closely followed by Oilers (+275) and KCB (+195). The trio have set the early pace and remain the teams to beat as the season gathers momentum.
Just outside the leading pack are KU Blak Blad, who sit fourth on 15 points after winning three of their opening four matches. They have shown consistency and will be keen to close the gap on the unbeaten sides with a strong showing in Round 5 when they visit Nondies. The mid-table battle is tightly contested, with Nondescript RFC (13 points), Strathmore Leos (10 points) and Kenya Harlequin (9 points) all still very much in the hunt for a top-half finish.
With only a few points separating them, Round 5 fixtures could significantly reshape this section of the table. At the lower end, Nakuru RFC lie eighth on six points, while Impala RFC sit ninth on five points, both sides desperate to build momentum and avoid being dragged deeper into relegation trouble.
The bottom three places are currently occupied by newly promoted duo MMUST and Daystar Falcons, alongside Kisumu RFC, all yet to register a win this season. With Kisumu having played four matches and still searching for points, pressure is beginning to mount as the competition intensifies.
