Kenya Cup title race tightened after match day five, with Kabras Sugar, Menengai Oilers and KCB Rugby all remaining unbeaten and level at the top on 25 points.
Kabras sit first courtesy of a superior points difference, having amassed a massive 403 points for and only 37 against in their opening five matches, a dominance reflected once again in their Match Week 5 destruction of Strathmore Leos, winning 81–21.
Menengai Oilers kept pace with another high-scoring outing, thumping Nakuru RFC 48–10 to maintain their perfect record and stay joint-top. Their attack, now at 356 points for the season, remains the only unit close to matching Kabras’ efficiency.
KCB Rugby also solidified their top-three status, beating Kenya Harlequin 24–12. Their defensive discipline has been a standout feature, conceding just 60 points, second only to Kabras.
The biggest upset of the weekend came in the clash between Nondescripts and KU Blak Blad. Blak Blad edged Nondies 23–18, a result that keeps them fourth on 19 points and firmly in the playoff conversation, while Nondies remain fifth on 14 points despite a spirited campaign so far.
MMUST also celebrated a crucial 20–15 win over Impala, lifting them to 4 points and boosting their survival hopes.
