New Zealand will be without Scott and Jordie Barrett for this weekend’s Test against Scotland at Murrayfield after both sustained injuries during the All Blacks’ 26–13 win over Ireland in Chicago.
Scott, who captained the side, was forced off after just three minutes with a deep leg cut, while Jordie departed midway through the first half with a high ankle sprain and knee ligament damage. Their older brother Beauden, playing at fly-half, completed the match.
“My bros are a bit beaten up,” Beauden admitted afterward. “I was proud of how we responded — it could’ve rattled me seeing them both go off.”
No timeline has been set for their recovery, but the All Blacks have called up Josh Beehre from the All Blacks XV as training cover in Edinburgh. Saturday’s clash marks the second fixture of New Zealand’s grand slam tour, which continues with matches against England and Wales.
