HSBC DVN2:Shujaa, Lionesses face demanding fixtures on Day One

Nairobi will once again take centre stage on the global rugby map when the HSBC Sevens Division Two series rolls into the capital on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with a packed opening-day schedule for both the men’s and women’s competitions.

With promotion and pride on the line, fans at Nyayo are in for a long, action-filled day featuring some of the most competitive nations in the second tier of the World Rugby Sevens circuit.

Lionesses face tough early tests

Kenya Lionesses will be under the spotlight in the women’s competition as they begin their campaign against Brazil at 9:44am, a fixture expected to test their defensive organisation and tempo early in the day.

The Lionesses will then take on China at 12:46pm before wrapping up their opening-day assignments with a high-stakes clash against South Africa at 3:48pm, a match likely to have a big say in the standings heading into Sunday.

Elsewhere in the women’s pool action, China face Argentina in the curtain-raiser at 9:00am, followed by Spain versus South Africa. Brazil and Argentina, as well as China and Spain, will also square off later in the afternoon as teams look to gain early momentum.

Shujaa headline men’s fixtures

In the men’s competition, Shujaa will enjoy home support as they launch their campaign against Canada at 10:50am, a fixture that could set the tone for their push for promotion.
Kenya will then face Belgium at 1:52pm before closing out the day against Germany at 4:54pm, a physically demanding encounter expected to draw a strong crowd under the Nairobi sun.

The men’s fixtures also feature mouthwatering contests among USA, Uruguay, Germany and Belgium, with the Americans facing Belgium in the opener before later clashes against Uruguay and Canada.

The Nairobi leg forms a crucial part of the HSBC Sevens Division Two series, where teams are battling not just for silverware, but for a chance to climb closer to the top tier of world sevens rugby.
