Gibu Rings the Changes as Oilers Tweak Squad for Blak Blad Clash

Menengai Oilers head coach Gibson Weru has made changes to his starting XV ahead of their Impala Floodlit semi-final showdown against Blak Blad on Saturday, November 1, at the Impala Grounds.

The first change sees Samuel Were come into the starting lineup at blindside flanker, replacing Jadha Abdon, who drops to the bench. In the back row, Elkeans Musonye starts at number eight, earning a promotion from the bench after impressing in last weekend’s quarterfinal.

There’s a shuffle in the half-back combination as Samson Onsomu reclaims his preferred scrum-half role, having featured at fly-half in the previous fixture. Meanwhile, Samuel Mwaura, who came off the bench last time out, has been handed the number 10 jersey, adding fresh creativity to Oilers’ attacking structure.

The final change comes in the midfield, where Chrispine Shitundo starts at outside centre, taking the place of John Okoth, who misses out on the traveling squad.

Oilers skipper Ibrahim Ayoo continues to lead the side, with Amos Obae serving as his deputy. The team will look to maintain their title defense after edging past KCB in a tense 16-13 quarterfinal.

The Oilers face a spirited Blak Blad side that stunned Kenya Harlequin 35-13 in their quarterfinal. Kickoff is set for 5:40 PM at the Impala Grounds
