The 2025/26 Mwamba Cup action kickoff this weekend with a full slate of high-stakes clashes across the country, as teams battle to secure early momentum.
With fixtures scheduled in Nairobi, Kisii, Kakamega, Mombasa and beyond, fans can expect entertaining as the Kenya cup takes a break until January 10th,2026.
Action kicks off early at the RFUEA Grounds, where Homeboyz RFC host Kenya Prisons at 2:00 PM. The Deejays will be looking to impose themselves early in the competition, but they face a disciplined and fast-improving Nationwide side capable of causing an upset.
Later at 4:00 PM, the spotlight shifts to the coast where Mombasa RFC welcome former championship side UOE Trojans at the Mombasa Sports Club.
In Kisii, Kisii RFC take on Stallions at Kisii School in another 4 PM kickoff. Kisii’s passionate home support has often proved decisive, but Stallions will arrive determined to make a statement away from home.
Ruaraka plays host to the tie between newly promoted KRU championship outfit NYS Spades and Sigalagala RFC also at 4 PM at NYS Headquarters.
Over at the UON Grounds, former giants Mean Machine square off against AP Warriors at 4 PM. At USIU Grounds, hosts USIU Martials face Kabarak University in what is expected to be a tactical and fast-paced university derby. Kickoff is at 4 PM.
In Juja, JKUAT Cougars meet TUM Marines at JKUAT Main Campus, Both teams will be eager to start strong in their hunt for Cup progression.
The final fixture sees Western Bulls return to the Bullring in Kakamega, where they host KCNP at 4 PM.
With evenly matched pairings and several emotional rivalries on display, rugby fans have every reason to expect a thrilling Mwamba Cup weekend across all venues.
