Kenya cup Defending champions Kabras Sugar RFC have named their matchday squad for their Kenya Cup clash against Strathmore Leos, with the fixture having been rescheduled to Friday to allow the university side time to bury their late player, Felix Chano.
The adjustment to the match calendar was made in consultation with the Kenya Rugby Union, as the rugby fraternity continues to mourn Chano’s passing.
Despite the sombre mood surrounding the encounter, Kabras will be keen to stay focused on their title ambitions and have selected a strong side.
Edward Mwaura, Teddy Akala and Hillary Mwanjilwa form the front row, with Hillary Odhiambo and David Bunduki partnering in the second row. After impressing with the ESS side last weekend, captain George Nyambua is back in the Kenya cup squad, William Mwanji and Patrick Lumumba complete the back row.
Barry Young will marshal the side from scrum-half alongside fly-half Walter Okoth who will start in unfamiliar position, while the backline features Alfred Orege, Patrick Lumumba and Velerian Tendwa in midfield. Mathias Osimbo and Erick Cantona complete the back three.
The bench includes Eugene Sifuna, Ephriam Oduor, Asuman Mugerwa, Clinton Litali and Collins Indeche, with Jeason Msoga, Brian Kiptanui and Victor Otieno providing cover in the backs.
