Daystar Falcons, KCB to Face Off in Kabeberi 7s Final

Daystar Falcons have qualified for their first-ever final after a memorable run at the 2025 Kabeberi 7s at the RFUEA Grounds.

The students will face KCB Rugby, who are chasing a historic four-peat, in Sunday’s final. For the Bankers, this will be their fifth consecutive final appearance of the season as they seek to reclaim the National 7s Circuit crown last won in 2023.

KCB booked their place in the final after edging out Kabras RFC 21-17 in yet another semi-final. Kabras once again found themselves undone by KCB, The Sugarmen have now been eliminated by the Bankers in four straight knockout clashes .

In the other semi-final, Daystar Falcons stunned Strathmore Leos 12-10 to reach the final on their maiden semi-final appearance. Kenya 7s flyer Patrick Odongo gave Falcons an early 5-0 lead before Victor Mola responded for the Leos. Clinton Amukwachi then extended the advantage to 12-5 with a strong finish.

Despite Strathmore pushing hard in the dying moments and Mola grabbing a second try, a missed conversion proved costly, allowing Daystar to hold on for a famous win.

Speaking to Two5four media after the match, Daystar head coach Caleb Bosire lauded the impact of star man Odongo, saying:
“Odongo’s presence played a key role in our win. His early try gave us belief and lifted the team’s confidence in such a high-pressure game,” Bosire said.
