Daystar Falcons cruised to a 43–0 win over Makueni Rugby to capture the men’s title at the Eastern Region BingwaFest Finals. The win secured their place in the upcoming National Finals, where they will look to build on last year’s strong showing.
The women’s competition saw an all-Embu affair, with Kithimu Community asserting their superiority in emphatic fashion. They overpowered Njukiri Community 45–5, displaying superior pace, organization, and clinical execution to lift the regional trophy.
Now in its second year, the BingwaFest tournament continues to make waves across Kenya’s rugby landscape.
Designed to unearth and nurture grassroots talent, the series has steadily expanded its reach, with regional finals already held in Nakuru for the Rift Valley and Siaya for the Nyanza region. The just-concluded Eastern leg in Machakos added another layer of excitement to this year’s edition.
Attention now shifts to the Nairobi Region Finals, set for next month, where top sides will compete for the remaining slots at the national stage.
