Henry Arundell has been cleared to play after his red card in England’s Six Nations defeat to Scotland was ruled sufficient punishment following a disciplinary review.
The England winger was sent off during Saturday’s 31–20 loss at Murrayfield Stadium after receiving two yellow cards in the first half, resulting in an automatic red.
His first yellow came for failing to release a tackled player. After returning to the field and scoring England’s opening try, Arundell was shown a second yellow card for taking out Scotland winger Kyle Steyn in the air.
The dismissal proved costly. During Arundell’s 30-minute absence, Scotland seized control, scoring 21 points to turn the match in their favor.
At a disciplinary hearing, Arundell accepted both decisions, acknowledging the incidents as foul play. The panel upheld the red card but ruled that no further suspension was necessary, noting the first yellow was for a technical infringement while the second involved a different type of offense.
Arundell is now eligible for England’s next Six Nations fixture against Ireland at Twickenham this weekend.
