All Blacks set to host Ireland at Eden Park as 2026 home test Schedule confirmed

New Zealand have confirmed their 2026 home Test schedule, highlighted by a blockbuster clash against Ireland at Eden Park on 18 July in the inaugural Nations Championship.

The All Blacks’ formidable record at Eden Park where they have not lost in 52 matches since 1994 adds extra weight to the fixture. Ireland last played there in 2022, falling 42-19 before rallying to win that historic series 2-1.

As part of the July window, New Zealand will also host France in Christchurch and Italy in Wellington. The meeting with France will be the first Test match at the newly built One New Zealand Stadium, which replaces the earthquake-damaged Lancaster Park and is set to open in April.

NZR chief executive Mark Robinson described the occasion as significant for both the team and the wider rugby community, noting the unique challenge of hosting three European sides in consecutive weeks.

With no Rugby Championship scheduled for 2026, the All Blacks will instead embark on a rare four-match tour of South Africa later in the year, including a neutral-venue Test against the Springboks in early September.

New Zealand will then renew their rivalry with Australia in October during a two-leg Bledisloe Cup series, with the home fixture set for Eden Park. Robinson said the All Blacks’ unbeaten run at the venue and the importance of the Bledisloe Cup would ensure a fierce contest.

The 2026 calendar marks the beginning of a reshaped global Test structure, anchored by the first-ever Nations Championship.
