Age-Grade Action and Vets Night to Open Safari 7s 2025

The 2025 Safari Sevens will open in spectacular fashion at Nyayo National Stadium, blending the promise of Kenya’s rugby future with the nostalgia of its glorious past.

The age-grade competition kicks off proceedings on October 9th and 10th, featuring Under-16 boys’ and girls’ provisional regional squads. Teams will come from Nairobi, Eastern, Coast, Western, Nyanza, Rift Valley, and Central regions, alongside an International Schools select side.

More than just a showcase, the tournament will serve as national trials. From the standout talents, selectors will assemble the provisional Kenya U16 squad to represent the country at the Africa Youth Olympic Games in Luanda, Angola this December, offering a direct pathway to international rugby.

When the youngsters take their final bow, the stage shifts to a different kind of magic. On Friday night, the Vets Edition lights up Nyayo under the floodlights, bringing together rugby greats whose artistry and grit made them household names. Fans will relive cherished memories as legends roll back the years with flair and passion.

To cap the festival mood, advance tickets for Friday are set at just Ksh 300, giving supporters a chance to witness both the rising stars and iconic veterans in one unforgettable evening.

With youth ambition colliding with veteran brilliance, Safari 7s 2025 promises an electrifying start, paving the way for the main show on Saturday and Sunday, when Kenya’s Shujaa and Lionesses will each field two teams.
