The excitement is building as Africa’s top rugby nations prepare to clash in a high-stakes opening day of the 2025 Africa Women Sevens. The full Match Day 1 schedule has been confirmed, with 12 thrilling fixtures lined up at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

Kenya Lionesses ran the South Africans very close in the final of last year’s tournament in Ghana, with the record 12-time champions having to dig deep for a 19-10 victory to claim a fourth title in a row.
Hosting the event this time around, in front of a passionate home crowd at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, Kenya’s Lionesses will have an extra push as they chase their second title in history and their first since 2018.
The hosts will take to the field twice on opening day, first against Côte d’Ivoire at 12:44pm before closing the day with a clash against Ghana at 4:06pm. With home fans expected to turn out in large numbers, Kenya will be aiming for a perfect start.
