Kinale Crowned Champions at Kabeberi 7s in U13 and U16 Girls Categories

Kinale Girls stole the show at the Kabeberi 7s held at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, clinching both the U13 and U16 girls titles in style.

In the U13 girls’ competition, Kinale were in a class of their own, putting on a commanding display capped by a 40–0 win over RPS and a 31–0 shutout against AISA to secure top honors. Their attacking flair and defensive discipline set them apart from the rest of the pack, making them deserving champions.

The U16 girls side carried the same momentum, brushing aside their opponents with grit and determination. After defeating Statehouse and later AISA, Kinale sealed the championship with emphatic performances that underlined their growing dominance in age-grade rugby.

Speaking after the double triumph, Coach Allan Bush hailed the players for their resilience and teamwork:

“These girls have worked extremely hard and today they proved that discipline and unity deliver results. Winning both U13 and U16 shows the depth of talent we are building at Kinale, and we are very proud of them.”

The Kabeberi 7s also featured competitive action across other age groups. In the U13 category, Kihunguro impressed with a 28–5 victory over Manguro, while Vision edged RPS 20–5. Laiser Colts, RPS, and Gilgil sides also lit up the day with strong performances.

The U16 girls’ pool matches saw AISA beat RPS 19–0, while Kumbi A stunned Laki 20–0 in a thrilling encounter. Vumbi B also got the better of RPS 15–0. In the boys’ division, Kihunguro continued their fine run with a 15–0 win over Madimoni, while AISA defeated Ubuntu Boys 10–5.

The tournament was a celebration of youth rugby, with both established and emerging schools showcasing talent and passion. But in the end, it was Kinale’s girls who walked away with the biggest headlines — underlining their status as rising queens of the game.
