Kenya’s Grace Okulu has joined French club Racing 92 ahead of the upcoming season. The 27-year-old will compete in Elite 2, the second tier of France’s women’s rugby, where the top teams can be promoted to Élite 1 Féminine, the country’s highest level of women’s rugby.

Okulu came through Nakuru RFC’s age-grade system and has been part of the Kenya Lionesses setup since 2016, the year she narrowly missed selection for the Rio Olympic Games. She has represented Kenya in both fifteens and sevens formats at events including the 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2020 Olympic Sevens, the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens, Rugby Africa Women’s Cup, the Elgon Cup, and the World Rugby WXV3 tournament in Dubai in 2023.
She also played for Japan’s Nagato Blue Angels on a six-month contract in 2023.
At Racing 92, Okulu joins Marie Aurélie Castel, Marie Bouchardeau, Khalya Sissoko-Ahamada, and Igoudou Bamba as the club prepares for their debut Elite 2 season after securing promotion by virtue of winning the 2024/25 Federale 1 Feminine championship.
