AP Warriors, Embu RFC, and Zetech Oaks Shine Bright in Driftwood 7s Division II

While the roar of Division I may steal the headlines, Division II of the 2025 Driftwood 7s delivered its own dose of ambition, and rising stars and at the heart of it all were three unbeaten sides, AP Warriors, Embu RFC, and Zetech Oaks, who each put in commanding performances at the Mombasa Sports Club.

AP Warriors were unstoppable in Pool A. The disciplined and hard-running outfit opened their campaign with a solid 19–5 win over KCA University before turning on the afterburners. They crushed Likoni 43–0 and wrapped up their pool dominance with a 36–0 statement win over Kilifi Titans. Across three matches, they scored 98 points and conceded just five.

In Pool C, Embu RFC were in a class of their own, delivering arguably the most complete team performance across all pools. After edging out a stubborn Mean Machine side 19–10 in their opener, they shifted gears to thrash North Coast Stormers 40–0. They capped it off with a resounding 45–0 victory over Kaya Rugby, showing both attacking flair and defensive steel.

Zetech Oaks lived up to expectations in Pool E. They began with a clinical 29–12 win over Vihiga Granites, overcame a tough South Coast Pirates side 24–15, and closed their campaign with a gritty 5–0 win over Northern Suburbs.

With the knockout stages looming, the trio of AP Warriors, Embu RFC, and Zetech Oaks head into Sunday as favorites not just to lift the Division II title, but to stake their claim for promotion into Kenya’s top sevens tier.
